Kolli Hills

One of the undisturbed patches on mother land

koli13.jpg

This trip we ( 7 of my friends and me) planned during summer of 1997 and we planned to go to Kolli Hills ... a hill in the Eastern Ghats. Its one of the reserves of rare flora and fauna. Its a treasure of Herbal plants { siddha practitioners live over here }. Its near Namakkal a city between Salem and Trichy, Tamilnadu, South India.

We took four bikes and started one fine morning. This photograph was taken on the way..the green paddy field and the cloud covered Kolli Hills in the backdrop. With me are my friends Ashok and Arockiam.

well we reached the hill top after going through adventurous mountain road with lots of hairpin bends and steep climb. we parked our bikes and then started on foot ..our destination was a waterfall..yeh a huge and a high waterfall know as Agayagangai...meaning the ganges from the sky..well it was. This photo we took on our way to the falls...shows the rich vegetation and the beautifull valley behind.

After climbing down a hill we got to the valley and the waterfall was there to greet us in its fullest charm. It was really high and magnificient. See us swimming and having good time in the water.

See us basking in the sun after the bath...you see the height of the falls..is'nt it big and majestic..we tried to capture its entire height..but in vain...still its a good photo I think.

we are returning home after a nice day..you see from left Talif, Anand, Myself, Kanda, Ashok, Annamalai, Saravanan and Arockiam..It was a nice trip indeed..since our college was in salem we returned back to college the same day night. This trip was in the month of march, 1997.
